Poet Bio: Patricia Roth Schwartz is a poet, as well as a writer of fiction, memoir, and creative non-fiction. She and her partner, Sandy, live in the Finger Lakes in Waterloo on 35 acres of land called Sage-Thyme Haven with their little dog, Rosie. Pat has just completed 14 years of volunteer work inside Auburn Correctional Facility, working weekly with inmates doing poetry. She is currently writing a memoir about this experience. She has six books of poems published, including Down the Middle with a Nickel: a Memoir in Poems of a West Virginia Childhood, and its sequel, The La Brea Tar Pit Blues: a Memoir of an Adolescence in Poems and Short Lyric Prose. Her new volume of poetry is a companion volume to these: Charleston Girls: a Memoir in Poems of a West Virginia Childhood. The book will be out in mid-May from FootHills.
