Fresh Paint to Brush Up Your Words

We hold our pens and pencils like a painter holds his brush, creating lines, textures, choosing perspectives, the type of paint.

What crafting turns paint and sculpture to a work of art? Is a photograph the same kind of work of art as a painting?         

Similarly, what turns words into poems?  The talk will give prompts and ideas for the multiple choices to craft our words into good poems.

I will show works of art, and poetic responses to them as well as examine how artistic craft incites the poetic counterpart. 

You will leave the session with a wealth of prompts and resources and a chance to put artistic practices to work.
